OUR RED WINES: FIVE EXPRESSIONS OF THE OJAI VALLEY
A Red Wine Program Built on the Ojai Landscape
The Ojai Valley isn’t one thing.
It’s heat and fog, canyon shade and mountain light, clay and sand, wind and stillness.
Our red wines come from this range of microclimates and tiny vineyard parcels, each contributing its own identity and energy.
We don’t make “regional blends.”
We make site-driven wines that reflect the corners of the valley—and beyond—that give them voice.
Our reds are five distinct expressions of where we work:
Luné — Grenache-led red blend from Upper Ojai
Singularity — 100% Syrah from Upper Ojai’s rugged hillsides
No Mind — Cool-climate Pinot Noir from Carpinteria
Liberté — A bold, structured Mourvèdre/Malbec blend
Solaire — Our Cal-Italian red: Barbera + Sangiovese
Each wine stands alone, but together they map out the valley and its edges.
Here’s a closer look at the lineup.
THE WINES
Luné — Grenache Noir / Barbera / Syrah
Upper Ojai · Organically Grown
Luné is our lightest-feeling red, but don’t mistake subtle color for subtle character.
Grenache brings lifted red fruit and spice; Barbera adds acidity and edge; Syrah brings quiet depth.
Expect: raspberry, violet, pomegranate, pepper, mineral tension
An Ojai night in a glass.
Singularity — 100% Syrah
Upper Ojai · Alisal & Two Horses Vineyards
Singularity is Syrah stripped down: lean, mineral, savory, and focused.
Upper Ojai’s elevation and heat give it dark fruit and structure, while native fermentation keeps it honest and direct.
Expect: smoked plum, graphite, black olive, cracked pepper, iron
A study in restraint and power.
No Mind — 100 % Pinot Noir
Carpinteria · Shepard Mesa Vineyard
Just over the ridge from Ojai, Carpinteria grows Pinot Noir with cool-marine precision.
No Mind is light-bodied, detailed, and saline, shaped by proximity to the Pacific.
Expect: wild strawberry, rose, cranberry, tea leaf, coastal earth
Pinot for people who like nuance and nerve.
Liberté — Mourvèdre / Malbec
Upper Ojai · Alisal Vineyard
Liberté is the boldest red we make.
It’s earthy, structured, dark-fruited, and unmistakably influenced by the rugged hillside site it comes from.
A natural wine with backbone.
Expect: plum, leather, spice, dark berry, fine tannins
A grounded, muscular Ojai red.
Solaire — Barbera / Sangiovese (Cal-Italian Blend)
Upper Ojai · Haase & Two Horses Vineyards
Our newest red release.
Solaire brings together the bright acidity of Barbera with the texture and depth of Sangiovese.
It’s warm, expressive, sun-driven, and still fresh.
Expect: cherry, plum, dried rose, leather, dusty spice
A Cali-Italian blend with Ojai soul.
WHY THE OJAI VALLEY MAKES SUCH INTERESTING REDS
The valley’s shape and orientation create a mix of contrasting wine-growing conditions:
upper elevations with dramatic temperature swings
canyon sites with morning shade
coastal-influenced slopes catching the fog
rocky, low-yielding soils
small, fragmented vineyards under 4 acres
This diversity shapes wines with identity—not sameness.
We’re not chasing a uniform style.
We’re presenting Ojai’s natural variation through the lens of low-intervention winemaking:
native yeasts
no fining or filtration
minimal sulfur
basket pressing
stainless aging for clarity
small-batch production
Each wine is made the same way, but each speaks differently.
THE CHARACTER MAP OF OUR REDS
If you’re trying to choose between them:
Bright & lifted: Luné
Tannic & savory: Singularity
Light & coastal: No Mind
Bold & structured: Liberté
Sunny & vibrant: Solaire
Five wines, five personalities, one valley.
The Ojai Valley in Red
Our red wine program is a snapshot of where we live and work—each vineyard a point on the map, each wine an interpretation of place.
The valley gives us range.
We bottle it.
